Northern Sweden has three sites included on Unesco´s World Heritage List of sites regarded as especially invaluable to all of humanity. Two of these sites are included on the list mainly for their unique nature, the third for its cultural values.

Laponia is a conglomeration of four national parks in western Lapland, included on Unesco´s World Heritage List for its unique nature and as a historic site for Sami culture.
The High Coast on the Baltic shore in the Västerbotten and Ångermanland provinces of northeastern Sweden is included in Unesco’s World Heritage list for its unique and highly scenic land and seascape, with a coastline and islands that rise steeply and dramatically from the sea.
The Gammelstad Church Village just outside the city of Luleå is included on the World Heritage List as the largest and best preserved church village in northern Sweden – a type of settlement typical of northern Scandinavia.
Hiking and trekking in Sarek National Park rewards the visitor with magnificent, unspoiled vistas. It lies in the Laponia World Heritage Site in northern Sweden and is one of Europe’s last remaining wildernesses.
