Central Sweden

Central Sweden is home to capital city Stockholm, the provinces of Dalarna and Värmland, as well as the beautiful city of Uppsala.

Things to see and do

Stockholm is a must, but do put the medieval city of Uppsala and challenger for ‘prettiest town anywhere’ Sigtuna on your itinerary. Further north, in Dalarna province, you can start ticking off UNESCO World Heritage Sites at the Great Copper Mine in Falun.

North German architecture has had a strong influence on this Stockholm neighbourhood popular among locals and tourists alike.

Monteliusvägen is a walking path on Södermalm, with beautiful views over Stockholm city. From there you can for example see the City Hall, famous for being the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet held on 10th of December each year.
