Explore Sweden’s nature, local food culture and a slower, more mindful way of travelling. Set across forests, open landscapes and Vänern – Sweden’s largest lake – this journey offers the opportunity to experience Sweden’s quiet, unspoilt surroundings. Within Vänern lies the Lurö Archipelago, a protected group of islands where nature and a slower pace of life are in focus.
The programme begins with a stay at Naturbyn, where open-fire cooking and storytelling introduce Swedish outdoor traditions. The journey continues with kayaking and birdwatching before heading out onto Lake Vänern to explore the islands of the Lurö Archipelago. Here, you will take part in guided walks, enjoy a floating sauna and stay overnight in simple cottages – with the option to spend the night in a lighthouse, surrounded by water and a strong sense of seclusion.
The trip concludes with a fishing experience in the archipelago and a final evening at one of Värmland’s historic mansions and spas.
