17–20 March: How sustainable lifestyles catalyse good life in Gothenburg

The term ‘sustainability’ sounds boring – but Sweden’s second biggest city of Gothenburg shows how a sustainable lifestyle is fun, delicious and good business.

A hotel where food goes not to waste but to compost, from which local farmers grow new produce. A restaurant in which all seafood comes from wild stocks and meat from breeders that provide the animals with a natural life. Even a lab that helps businesses in finding new purposes for waste products. Plus 95% of public transport running on renewable energy: There is a reason Gothenburg was crowned the world’s most sustainable destination seven times. The city was also recently selected as UN Hub for Sustainable Lifestyles, with activities getting underway in 2026.

Join us for:

  • Exploring circular waste and sustainable food partnerships at the Radisson Blue hotel
  • Dining at the restaurant VRÅ, that has chosen to follow nature instead of trying to tame it, following nature instead of trying to tame it
  • Enjoying the ‘Gothenburg Royale’ signature dish that won the city’s competition for a dish that creates pride over local foods, inspires to healthier lifestyles and highlights sustainable food experiences
  • Visiting the first urban winery in the Nordic countries where grapes from Germany and France are turned into vegan wines

Spots are limited to 5 international journalists for this trip, allowing only one representative per media outlet.
