With over 1,000 islands to choose from, the Blekinge Archipelago offers plenty of ways to get away from it all. Some islands are little more than uninhabited rocks, others are home to historic fortresses, nature reserves and small coastal communities. Many are car-free, several are easily reached by ferry, and each has its own character.
Finding a favourite might take a while. Fortunately, there's no need to rush.
- Archipelago and islands: Exploring landscapes and nature of the Blekinge Archipelago - plenty of opportunities to slow down and settle in equilibrium!
- Allan’s on Ytterön: Far out in Blekinge’s eastern archipelago, this little pearl offers a cosy hideaway in the island's forest, with a floating sauna for warm, quiet moments surrounded by water as delicious meals.
- Nature, food and culture: Coastal walks, local seafood, art and maritime history. There's plenty to discover, although sitting on a rock and watching the sea is a perfectly respectable alternative.
- Eriksberg: Discover one of the Nordic region's largest wildlife reserves, where European bison, red and fallow deer, mouflon and wild boar roam freely across the vast coastal landscape. A safari offers the chance to experience the animals and wilderness up close.
Exact travel date is to be confirmed.
