A. General
A.1 The Visit Sweden “Your Swedish Island” Competition (the “Competition”) is arranged by the Swedish company V.S. Visit Sweden AB, org.no: 556500-7621, with address at Box 3030, 103 61 Stockholm, Sweden (“Visit Sweden”).
A.2 The details of the Competition are set out under Visit Sweden’s Competition information page and related channels (the “Competition Details”).
A.3 By participating in the Competition, participants accept these terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) and the Competition Details.
B. Eligibility
B.1 The Competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or over who are not residents or citizens of Sweden.
B.2 The Competition is not open to employees, including family members of employees, of Visit Sweden, and their group of companies, agents, suppliers, representatives or advisors.
B.3 The Competition is not open to any person who is a billionaire, meaning (for the purposes of this Competition) an individual whose net assets exceed SEK 1 billion (or equivalent). This exclusion is intended in the spirit of democratic luxury.
C. How to participate
C.1 The Competition is entered by completing and submitting a competition entry as described in the Competition Details (the “Entry”). To enter, participants must:
i. Upload a video in 9:16 portrait format, of a maximum length of one (1) minute, explaining why they should win their own Swedish island; and
ii. Submit the Entry via the method set out in the Competition Details.
C.2 Participants are encouraged to share their video on social media using the hashtag #YourSwedishIsland. This is not mandatory, but it may increase the participant’s chances of winning, as further described in the Competition Details.
C.3 Only one Entry and email address per person is permitted.
C.4 Entries are accepted until 17 April 2026 at 23:59 CEST (the “Final Entry Date”). Entries received after the Final Entry Date will not be considered.
D. Participant Privacy
D.1 For further details on Visit Sweden’s processing of participants’ personal data, please see Visit Sweden’s Privacy Policy, available via Visit Sweden’s website (the “Privacy Policy”).
E. Winner and prize
E.1 All valid submissions will be reviewed by a jury consisting of representatives from Visit Sweden, the communications agency Prime Weber Shandwick, and the National Property Board (the “Jury”). The Jury will assess Entries in accordance with the selection criteria set out in the Competition Details and will decide five (5) winners of the Competition (each a “Winner”).
Island prize
E.2 Each Winner will receive a certificate and the personal right to use a designated Swedish island for a period of one (1) year (the “Prize”). The Prize is granted through a right-of-use agreement (nyttjande-/upplåtelseavtal) and does not confer any ownership rights to the island.
E.3 The Prize must be used with respect for Swedish law and the Right of Public Access and any rules or guidance communicated by Visit Sweden or the relevant landowner or rights holder.
E.4 The Prize is subject to availability and may be subject to additional conditions set out in the Competition Details and/or the applicable right-of-use agreement.
E.5 The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
E.6 The Winner will be notified by Visit Sweden in May 2026 using the contact details provided in the Entry. The Winner must respond within 28 days and claim the Prize. If the Winner does not respond within this period, the Prize will be forfeited without compensation and Visit Sweden may select another Winner.
E.7 Visit Sweden retains the right to substitute the Prize with another prize of similar value if the original Prize is not available.
Travel vouchers / trip to Sweden
E.9 In addition to the Prize, each Winner will receive one (1) travel voucher entitling the Winner to round-trip travel to Sweden for two (2) persons (the “Travel Voucher”).
E.10 The Travel Vouchers are valid for one travel during the period June 2026 until May 2027 only and are subject to availability. The exact travel dates, duration, and arrangements will be provided by Visit Sweden travel partners and communicated to the Winner in connection with booking.
E.11 Travel Vouchers may only be redeemed by booking through Visit Sweden’s designated travel partners, or any other partner appointed by Visit Sweden. Bookings made outside of these channels will not be eligible.
E.12 The Travel Vouchers are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash or other prizes. Visit Sweden may substitute the Travel Vouchers (or elements thereof) with benefits of similar value if necessary.
E.13 The Travel Vouchers include a round trip to Sweden only and do not include transport to or from the Swedish island that forms part of the Prize, unless expressly stated otherwise in the Competition Details.
E.14 The total combined value per Travel Vouchers is 20,000 SEK, inclusive of applicable taxes and fees. No cash alternative will be offered.
E.15 Visit Sweden, and its collaboration partners, may use the winner’s name, image and details of their stay for publicity purposes in media and PR channels. Winners may also be asked to take part in reasonable promotional activities, including providing photographs and participating in interviews about their experience in Sweden.
By accepting the prize, winners agree to take part in such promotional activity and to the use of their name, image and relevant comments for publicity purposes, without additional compensation. Any personal data will be processed in accordance with Visit Sweden’s privacy policy.
F. Intellectual property
F.1 By entering the Competition, each participant grants Visit Sweden the irrevocable right to use their Entry and any other materials submitted in connection with the Competition (“Materials”) for the purposes of administering the Competition and selecting Winners. By accepting the Prize, the Winner agrees that Visit Sweden shall be the exclusive owner of all intellectual property rights in the Materials and agrees to assign or licence such rights to Visit Sweden on terms to be provided.
F.2 Visit Sweden may, for promotional and editorial purposes related to the Competition and/or the Prize, request to publish, repost, or otherwise share a participant’s video (in its original or edited form). Visit Sweden will seek the participant’s prior consent before any such publication or reposting.
G. Limitation of liability
G.1 Visit Sweden does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
G.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Visit Sweden accepts no liability for a participant’s participation or inability to participate in the Competition, or for use of the Prize or Travel Voucher. Visit Sweden will not be liable for loss of income, profits, sales, or damage to reputation. Participants’ statutory rights are not affected.
H. Miscellaneous
H.1 Visit Sweden will not compensate participation in the Competition or any disappointment related thereto.
H.2 The Winner is responsible for any taxes, fees, or costs relating to the Prize and/or Travel Voucher and shall indemnify Visit Sweden for such costs.
H.3 The Winner is responsible for ensuring they meet all requirements necessary to use the Prize and/or Travel Voucher, including valid travel documentation.
H.4 The Winner is responsible for ensuring they have adequate insurance coverage to use the Prize and/or Travel Voucher.
H.5 Visit Sweden will not be responsible for any injury or damage to hardware or software resulting from participation in the Competition.
H.6 Visit Sweden reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Competition at any time.
H.7 Visit Sweden shall not be liable for failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control, including force majeure.
H.8 The Competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by Swedish law. Any dispute shall be exclusively settled by Stockholm District Court, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
